Gynecology Care: Pap Smear & Cultures

Gynecology in Spanish in Pasadena, TX: Pap test, vaginal cultures, infection treatment, STI testing and contraceptive guidance. Private, no appointment.

The gynecology visit resolves discomforts many women put up with for months and catches early what causes no symptoms, such as cervical lesions. At Clínica Hispana Corazón y Vida in Pasadena, care is in Spanish, private, without an appointment, and you may ask to be seen by a woman.

What does the gynecology visit include?

  • History, blood pressure and weight.
  • Pelvic and breast exam.
  • Pap test and, when appropriate, HPV test.
  • Vaginal cultures to identify yeast, bacteria or trichomonas.
  • Treatment of vaginal infections and sexually transmitted infections.
  • Guidance on contraception, periods, fertility and menopause.
  • Ultrasound when the uterus and ovaries need to be seen.

How often should I get a Pap test?

Between ages 21 and 29, every three years. Between 30 and 65, every three years with a Pap test or every five with an HPV test. If you had an abnormal result, the provider shortens the interval. Avoid intercourse, douching and vaginal products for 48 hours before the test.

Which symptoms should I get checked?

  • Discharge with a bad odor, burning or itching that does not improve.
  • Bleeding between periods, after intercourse or after menopause.
  • Persistent pelvic pain or pain with intercourse.
  • Very heavy or absent periods.
  • A lump, dimpling or discharge in a breast.

None is normal "because of age"; almost all have treatment when checked in time.

What is the visit like?

  1. A private conversation about the reason and your history.
  2. A physical exam according to the reason; you set the pace and may ask for a companion.
  3. Samples taken on the spot: Pap test, culture or STI tests.
  4. Initial treatment when the diagnosis is clear, and a date to review results.

What if I have a vaginal infection?

The three most common causes are yeast infection (candidiasis), bacterial vaginosis and trichomoniasis. Their symptoms look alike but they are treated with different medications, which is why the culture matters. With the result, treatment is usually suppositories, cream or pills for a few days; with trichomoniasis the partner must also be treated so it does not come back.

How much does it cost?

The visit and each test have a direct price, no insurance, in cash or by card. Confirm the cost on WhatsApp at (346) 646-2974 before you come.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Tell the front desk when you arrive and we arrange the visit with female staff when available. You may also bring a companion into the room if you prefer.

It is better to wait until the bleeding ends, because the sample may be hard to read. If you have an urgent discomfort, come anyway: the consultation and the culture can still be done.

The culture and the Pap test are processed in a laboratory and take a few days; we tell you the turnaround when the sample is taken. If an infection is evident, treatment starts promptly.
