Alcohol & Drug Testing

Alcohol and drug testing for employment in Pasadena, TX: urine or breath sample, chain of custody and result documentation for the employer. Walk in.

Before hiring, after an accident or at random, many employers in Pasadena require a drug or alcohol test. At Clínica Hispana Corazón y Vida we do it without an appointment, with the collection process the employer requires and the documentation ready to hand in, all in Spanish.

Which tests do we do?

  • Urine drug test with 5-, 10- or more-substance panels, according to what the employer requests.
  • Alcohol test.
  • Collection with chain of custody when the employer's form requires it.
  • Result documentation for the employer, school or paperwork.

If your employer requires a specific laboratory or format, bring the instructions so we follow them exactly.

What should I bring?

  • Official photo ID.
  • The employer's form or order, if you have it.
  • A list of prescription medications you take: some show up on the panel and the reviewing physician takes that into account.

Avoid drinking large amounts of water before the test; very diluted urine means the test has to be repeated.

What is the visit like?

  1. Check-in with ID and verification of the form.
  2. Urine sample collection in a prepared restroom, or a breath test for alcohol.
  3. Sealing and labeling of the sample in front of you when there is chain of custody.
  4. Delivery of the documentation; if the test is processed at an outside laboratory, we tell you the turnaround and who receives the result.

The visit usually takes 15 to 30 minutes.

What if it is positive?

With laboratory panels, a positive result is confirmed with a second, more specific test before it is reported. If you take a prescribed medication that explains the result, bring it documented. For DOT tests, the process is defined by the employer's program and its medical review officer.

Is it the same as the DOT physical?

No. The DOT physical evaluates your health to drive; the drug test is separate and ordered by the company. Many drivers do both in the same visit.

Which substances does the panel detect?

The basic five-substance panel detects marijuana, cocaine, amphetamines, opiates and phencyclidine. Expanded panels add benzodiazepines, barbiturates, methadone, oxycodone and others. How long each substance remains detectable in urine ranges from one or two days to several weeks.

How much does it cost?

Each test has a direct price, no insurance, in cash or by card; the panel and chain of custody change the price. Confirm on WhatsApp at (346) 646-2974.

Frequently Asked Questions

The employer defines it: the most common are 5- or 10-substance panels. Bring your form or ask human resources which panel and whether chain of custody is required, and we do it exactly that way.

Yes, some pain relievers, anxiety medications and attention deficit medications test positive. Bring the prescription or the bottle: the reviewing physician considers it before reporting the result.

Rapid tests at the clinic give a result in minutes. Panels sent to an outside laboratory, especially with chain of custody, take a few days; we tell you the turnaround when the sample is collected.
